Position Overview: Golden State Strategy Group is seeking an entry-level, highly organized, and detail-oriented Fundraising Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, in-office, Sacramento-based position that provides hands-on experience in high-stakes political fundraising. The role is supportive in nature and ideal for someone eager to build a foundation in political fundraising, event execution, and donor relations within a fast-paced consulting environment.
The Fundraising Assistant will support day-to-day fundraising operations through administrative, research, and creative tasks while working closely with fundraising staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Assistance: Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising events, including coordination, preparation, and post-event follow-up.
Database Management: Maintain and update donor and event databases to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
Graphic Design: Create event invitations using Canva to elevate fundraising campaigns and support outreach efforts.
Research: Conduct research on prospective donors, political trends, and fundraising best practices to support overall fundraising strategy and client goals.
Required Qualifications
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data handling, and comfort learning database software.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team while also taking initiative independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, including creating campaign or event materials.
Prior exposure to political campaigns, fundraising, or nonprofit development (volunteer experience counts).
Familiarity with political donor databases or fundraising tools.
This is an entry-level position. Relevant internships, volunteer experience, or campus involvement may be considered in lieu of full-time experience. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply!
